Sand and Carbon Filter

Sand and carbon filtration are typically used for achieving supplemental removals of suspended solids and pathogens not destroyed by the clarifocculation process. Sand and carbon filtration are equipped with automated backwash system in order to keep a high level of efficienza.

A contained bed of sand that acts to filter the first flush of runoff. The runoff is then collected beneath the sand bed and conveyed to an adequate discharge point or infiltrated into the in-situ soils.

Carbon air filters are the filters most commonly used to remove gases. They are designed to filter gases through a bed of activated carbon (also called activated charcoal) and are usually used to combat volatile organic compounds (VOCs) released from common household products.
